MAX1490EBCPG+ is a transceiver developed by Maxim Integrated for low voltage RS-485 communication applications. It is a complete transceiver solution that includes the driver, receiver and transceiver in one package. The MAX1490EBCPG+ offers various levels of protection from short circuits and from overvoltage conditions when used in the field. It is designed to operate from a single +3V to +5.5V supply, eliminating the need for a separate supply voltage and thus greatly reducing system costs.

The MAX1490EBCPG+ uses the RS-485 standard protocol and operates at data rates up to 1.5Mbps. The integrated driver and receiver provide the communication interface between two devices. The device can be configured as either a simplex (1-wire) bus or as a differential, multi-filar, bidirectional (2-wire) bus.
