Battery management is a key factor for modern electronic and mobile devices. The MAX14921ECS+ (Energy Control System+) is a highly integrated battery management system for charging and monitoring applications. With a combination of features including analog current or voltage sense amplification, low drop-out (LDO) regulators, and a high-efficiency synchronous buck converter, the MAX14921ECS+ provides the power needed to ensure optimal battery performance.

The MAX14921ECS+ was designed to reduce the size and cost of the power delivery circuit, while also providing a highly-flexible hardware and software solution. For example, the MAX14921ECS+ has four independent digital outputs that can be programmable to implement either a four-channel charging system or a single-channel charging system. The device provides support for MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, enabling it to adjust the charging parameters according to battery temperature, cell consistency, and charging state.
