The MAX14931DSEVKIT is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit designed to illustrate the application field and working principle of the MAX14931 Synchronous MOSFET Half-bridge Gate Drive IC from Maxim Integrated. The evaluation kit is designed to allow users to quickly and easily test the performance of the MAX14931 driver and its related components for a range of switching applications.

The board includes a fully integrated 4A, 500V power stage, an isolated transformer for driving a balanced MOSFET half-bridge, and two micro-current sensing resistors.

The MAX14931 is an intelligent synchronous MOSFET driver with a simple two-wire interface. The chip is optimized for driving power MOSFETs in low-voltage applications. It features an independent source and sink gate drive for the high-side and low-side MOSFETs, respectively. The device supports two half-bridge gate drivers for Buck, Boost, Buck/Boost, and Flyback applications.

The MAX14931 also includes built-in dead-time control, allowing for adjustable dead-times from 0.5-6.0µs. It has adjustable source and sink rise and fall delays of 5-30ns for transient optimized performance. The device features integrated ESD protection on all pins to prevent system damage caused by electrostatic discharge. It also incorporates a temperature sensor for thermal protection.

The evaluation board is configured with a 2A and 500V power stage, including a MAX14951 paired with a MAX14920D half-bridge controller. It provides all of the necessary components for users to quickly and easily evaluate and demonstrate the MAX14951 and related components for a range of performance applications.
