The MAX15016BATX+ is a low-power regulator module that combines a precise linear programmable-current sink and a high-efficiency synchronous step-down switch. The working principle of the MAX15016BATX+ can be easily understood by looking at the internal diagram of the device. The controller is configured in a two-phase buck topology and contains a linear voltage regulator (LVR) and a synchronous buck switch (SD). On the other hand, when there is a higher load, the controller switches on the SD, thus achieving higher efficiency.
