<p>The MAX15046EVKIT is a high density, ultra-efficient, monolithic AC/DC power supply evaluation kit. It is designed for a variety of applications where the high efficiency, small size and wide input voltage range of the MAX15046EVKIT+ makes it suitable. This evaluation board includes step down conversion from AC mains to a single output of 18V at 1A in a very small form factor.</p><p>In order to provide maximum flexibility and accommodate a wide variety of applications, the MAX15046EVKIT+ has a universal input voltage range of 90Vac to 264Vac which enables it to operate from most worldwide power grids without the need for any external components. It also includes an integrated EMI filter to comply with international standards for radiated and conducted emissions without the need for additional components. Additionally, the MAX15046EVKIT+ includes a wide input range of 5V, 12V, 18V, 24V and 48V DC-DC, so that a variety of applications can be designed and implemented.</p><p>The MAX15046EVKIT+ uses the MAX15046, which is an ultra-efficient integrated monolithic switch mode power supply (SMPS). It combines a PFC controller, active clamp rectifier, input line isolation transformer, and an integrated DC/DC converter, providing a complete, ready-to-use AC/DC power supply solution for a variety of applications.</p><p>The structure of MAX15046EVKIT+ power supply consists of the following blocks. The primary part starts with the input voltage, which is rectified by the active clamp rectifier. The rectified AC is then transformed to isolation. The voltage across the transformer is then regulated to provide a constant output voltage by the control loop inside the control IC, the MAX15046. The low voltage regulated output is then transformed back to isolation for protection and filtered for ripple reduction. The efficiency of the MAX15046EVKIT+ is typically greater than 90%.</p><p>The MAX15046EVKIT+ can be utilized in a wide range of applications such as industrial electronics, consumer electronics, handheld/portable devices, peripheral and add-on cards, lighting and LED drivers, and RF equipment. It is designed to work across the full range of input voltages and will perform across a wide range of output currents without compromising performance or reliability.</p><p>The MAX15046EVKIT+ is a highly efficient, small size, and ultra-low total bill-of-materials (BOM) power supply which is beneficial for a variety of applications.
