The MAX1677EVKIT is an evaluation board for Compact, High-Efficiency, Off-Line, DC/DC and AC/DC Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPSs). It is a monolithic, CMOS-based SMPS controller with integrated FET driver that is designed for low-cost, high-efficiency power supplies. The MAX1677EVKIT provides the user with a wide range of power output capabilities from 0.2W to 3W.

The board has an onboard microcontroller (MCU) to enable the user to program various SMPS parameters through the peripheral\'s USB interface. The programmable output voltage can be set in steps of at least 0.1V up to a maximum of 30V. The USB communication with the MCU opens up a wide range of options like over current limit, over voltage protection, etc., that makes the board suitable for a variety of Industrial and Consumer applications.

The MAX1677EVKIT is designed to operate with an input voltage range of 8-42V and output range from 0.2W up to 3W. It has an agile frequency control feature that enables the user to select the desired output frequency to maintain low EMI levels and maximize efficiency.

The board uses a fixed frequency PWM control technique, which provides improved efficiency across the entire range of advertised output power.
