The MAX16907RATE+ DC–DC synchronous boost converter works with the average current mode control architecture using the peak current-mode control (PCMC) technique to achieve fast transient response and high efficiency. The device utilizes two stages synchronous boost architectures that enable high step-up ratio and wide input voltage range (6V–20V). In the first stage, the IC converts input voltage from 6V to 16V. The second stage boosts the voltage from 16V to 30V (with external N-channel MOSFET) for applications with input voltages above 16V. The IC controls its output voltage up to 3.6V with 1.2% accuracy and up to 10V with 2% accuracy. In addition, the device supports programmable output current limit, adjustable dead time with 0.5μs resolution, and frequency foldback mode. Furthermore, the device features low quiescent current of 0.75mA and up to 95% peak efficiency.
