The MAX16907SAUE/V+T is a step-down, non-synchronous, high-efficiency DC-DC switching regulator. This device offers high output current up to 16A. With a highly optimized current-mode control loop and high switching frequency of 1MHz the MAX16907SAUE/V+T is able to deliver a wide range of output voltages and maintain a stable operation across wide input voltage ranges.

Working Principle

The MAX16907SAUE/V+T utilizes a proprietary topology that combines a high-efficiency peak current-mode control PWM driver and a synchronous rectification gate driver in one device. This topology combines the advantages of both the PFM control scheme used in the step-mode converter and the PWM control scheme used in some current-mode switch mode DC-DC converters.The PWM driver of the MAX16907SAUE/V+T is capable of controlling input current and regulating the output voltage. Voltage regulation is achieved by adjusting the duty cycle of the output switch. The shut performance of the device is monitored by the current-mode control loop to ensure that the current remains below the maximum peak current limit.The synchronous rectification gate driver serves to reduce the EMI radiations from the switching nodes which helps in customer design compliance.
