The MAX17105EVKIT is a comprehensive evaluation kit for the MAX17105, a high-voltage, single-output, constant-current LED driver. It is specially designed for a wide range of commercial and residential applications and can be used for smaller lighting projects such as spot lighting, strip lighting, in-ground and underwater lighting, garden lighting, etc. As part of the evaluation board, the MAX17105EVKIT can be used to develop, prototype and evaluate designs to meet the specific needs of each particular application.The MAX17105 is a pulse-width modulation (PWM) current-regulating driver, operating from an input voltage of 3.1V to 36V. It provides a programmable constant-current output of up to 500mA, with an accuracy of +/- 0.8%. The integrated LED current is adjustable in 0.1mA increments and is protected against over-voltage and over-temperature conditions.The MAX17105EVKIT includes components such as the MAX17105 IC, a power connector and the necessary hardware for connecting to the system, including a 9-pin cable, a miniature USB-B connector and a jumper for selecting either the 5V or 12V input voltage. An open frame surface-mount or SIP case can also be added for a fully operational system.The kit also comes with a GUI software for easy configuration and monitoring, as well as an evaluation board for testing the performance and various features of the MAX17105. The evaluation board provides different modes of operation of the IC such as linear current regulation, hysteretic current regulation, and toggle current regulation, in order to select the most appropriate mode of operation for each particular application.The evaluation board includes an input voltage connector, a power supply connector, a custom-designed input voltage regulator, an output voltage and current monitor and an output current selection rotary switch. It also includes a 3-position selector jumper for selecting one of three different operation modes.To ensure the highest accuracy, the evaluation board includes a programmable MAX17105 chip, as well as multiple calibration resistors, which provide a reference value for the current level generated by the chip.The MAX17105EVKIT provides an efficient way for engineers to design and evaluate a wide range of LED lighting projects, thanks to its complete set of features and flexibility. It is an ideal platform for various commercial, industrial and residential lighting projects, from small to mid-size lighting applications.
