Its Turbo Boost mode also ensures that the load output voltage remains above its low dropout (LDO) voltage setting, even if the load current is too high. The MAX1694EUA+ is designed to operate over a wide temperature range and offers a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 42V.
The MAX1694EUA+ contains an adjustable low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator, multiple high current power switches, an overtemperature (OT) protection circuit, current regulation, an optional Turbo Boost circuit, and many other features. The LDO regulator provides up to 2A of output current and supports output voltages from 0.50V to 6.00V. The power switch can provide up to one to eight channels of up to 15A with a wide range of delay times and variable slew rates. The circuit also includes a temperature-controlled output voltage regulator (TVR) that monitors and regulates the output voltage of the TVR stage when the temperature exceeds a predetermined limit.
The MAX1694EUA+ also includes an on-chip device monitor (DLCM) that checks the status of each power switch, voltage and current regulation, Turbo Boost circuit, and other system elements, allowing the engineer to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot any potential system issues. The device also provides a variety of protection features including overvoltage (OV) protection, undervoltage (UV) protection, open circuit protection (OCP), and over-current protection (OCP).
