The MAX16962 EVKIT# evaluation board is specifically designed for DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) switched-mode power supplies. The kit provides a convenient way to evaluate the features of the MAX16962, a small and low-cost, current-mode PWM controller, and to quickly prototype power supplies for a variety of applications. It includes a ferrite transformer, an adjustable output voltage and current setpoint, and a wide range of user-programmable features accessed through I²C bus.

The MAX16962 EVKIT# is a robust and comprehensive evaluation board that helps determine the best combination of components to be used in a power-conversion application. The power converter architecture is a flyback topology with synchronous rectification, allowing the use of high frequency at the output. Additionally, the board also offers alternative current share options between two outputs.

The MAX16962 EVKIT# offer a wide range of features to enable increasing the efficiency, reliability and flexibility of the power supply. The featured components are designed to reduce component noise and self-heating, while at the same time promoting long product life. The interface board allows remote control of the MAX16962 through an I²C bus.

The MAX16962 EVKIT# is also equipped with printed circuit boards to enable rapid prototyping and implementation of the application field. The boards allow for easy addition of options such as a CAN-bus connection, a Fanimate controller, or a monitoring interface. Furthermore, the I²C bus allows a variety of devices to be interconnected including off-the-shelf analog-to-digital converters and digital-to-analog converters.

The EVKIT# also features an integrated LED driver, which supplies reliable light in all operating conditions. The LEDs are programmed with the configuration software to provide a uniform lighting across a large area. Additionally, the MAX16962 EVKIT# is provided with a USB port to allow remote logging and control of the system parameters.
