The MAX1724EVKIT+ is a quiet, versatile evaluation board for evaluating the performance of the MAX1724, which is a synchronous step-down DC/DC converter that can deliver up to 3.3 V at 5 A and is capable of operating from an input voltage range of 4.5 V to 14 V, making it optimal for use in industrial and networking applications. The MAX1724EVKIT+ is based on a Constant On-Time (COT) control architecture, which offers excellent line and load regulation as well as improved efficiency. The COT control scheme uses a stable on-time, based on the input voltages and output load (determined by the current-sense resistor). This simplifies the design process, as only one external resistor and capacitor is required for regulation. The board also features a wide variety of protection features, including over-current shutdown, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout.
The working principle of the MAX1724EVKIT+ is based on the voltage conversion technique, which is used for transforming the input voltage into a desired output voltage, either operating in DC or AC mode. DC/DC converters, such as the MAX1724EVKIT+, work by converting a DC voltage into an alternating current (AC).
