The MAX1729EVKIT is an evaluation board for evaluating and developing offline DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) SMPS designs. It can be used for testing, prototyping, and product development.The MAX1729EVKIT provides a single-stage topology featuring a fully enclosed and insulated flyback transformer from Power Integrations\' TOPSwitch-GX family of integrated off-line converter controllers. It also includes all the external components necessary for an operational offline SMPS circuit.The MAX1729EVKIT application field and working principle are very simple. It provides the user with a ready-made solution for testing and exploring off-line SMPS designs. The board handles wide-range input lines from 90VAC to 264VAC, giving the user flexibility when connecting the board to a mains power source. The board can be tested under a variety of loading conditions from light to heavy, as well as various frequencies from 50hz to 400hz.The board contains two independent half-bridge outputs that are ideal for advanced topology design experiments such as flyback, quasi-resonant flyback, resonant and SEPIC etc. Furthermore, the board can also serve as a power testing platform for the user’s proposed designs in the lab environment.The general features of the MAX1729EVKIT include an easy-to-use control interface, the features of Power Integrations\' TOPSwitch-GX family of controllers. This interface can be used to measure power, current and voltage. The board also includes a user-adjustable turn-on time for light-load operations.
