Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are essential tools for showcasing and testing new technology and products. One of such product is Max1737EVKIT which has many applications faecs and works on its own unique principle.

The MAX1737EVKIT is a product from Maxim Integrations and it is a multi-output, three-phase, dc/dc and buck regulator evaluation kit. The kit has an adjustable output voltage of 1.8v to 6v, up to 11A;; in this regard it is important to note that the load current and voltage is adjustable for each channel making it extremely interesting and useful for multiple application field scenarios. Furthermore, the MAX1737EVKIT supports both buck- sync and SEPIC- sync switcher operations.

The kit contains 5 modules: USB control board, 3VDC/6VDC DC input module board, output module board, compensation network and heat sink to help to get the best performance out of the MAX1737EVKIT. Additionally, the kit also contains evaluation tools for switching losses and maximum output current. With the help of graphical user interface to control, monitor and configure the board parameters and get the accurate result of the output.

The MAX1737EVKIT operates on a very interesting -integrated half-bridge synchronous converter’ principle to accurately adjust the voltage and current. The voltage and current adjustments are performed via three distinct controllers. Firstly, the primary side controller adjusts the voltage output and it is controlled via the high side gate driver. Secondly, the secondary side controller is responsible for the voltage output adjustment and it is controlled via the low side gate driver. Thirdly, the secondary side controller further adjusts the voltage output with respect to the load condition. As long as the load is above the set voltage, the secondary controller will monitor it and increase the output voltage accordingly, until the set threshold voltage is reached.
