The MAX17498BATE+ is a highly integrated power management integrated circuit (PMIC) that provides high efficiency power flow for AC and DC converters, offline switchers and other applications. It features an efficient conversion of input energy into a regulated output voltage and current. The MAX17498BATE+ integrates two high-efficiency synchronous buck regulators with flexible output voltage adjustment. With its built-in current protection and current-sense resistors, the MAX17498BATE+ ensures safe and reliable operation.

The MAX17498BATE+ provides power conversion efficiency up to 97%, improving system efficiency and helping to reduce system power loss. The PMIC also offers both load-independent current limiting and thermal protection that can be used together to protect against short circuits and over-temperature operations. The MAX17498BATE+ can be considered for offline switching mode power supply (SMPS) for AC/DC power sources, including AC/DC wall adapter, USB adaptor and general purpose power supply with adjustable output voltage. The MAX17498BATE+ is based on a PWM-controlled buck converter. When the transistor is on, the input voltage is applied to the inductor and charge is stored in the inductor.
