The MAX17530AUBEVKIT# is an evaluation and development board used for evaluating high voltage switching regulators and exploring design alternatives. This board is part of the MAX17530 series of high voltage switching regulators, which features a programmable switching frequency and adjustable duty cycle.The board can be used to evaluate fractional KiloWatt, half bridge, boost, flyback, and buck regulators, as well as applications such as DC/DC converters, automotive LED driver systems and off-line SMPS.

Application Field of MAX17530AUBEVKIT#

The Evaluation board of MAX17530AUBEVKIT# is suitable for the DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPS. It is especially suitable for automotive LED driver systems, can also be used for high voltage switching regulators as well as applications such as power supplies or LED driver systems.

The MAX17530AUBEVKIT# evaluation board is composed with the power board and the evaluation board. The power board is equipped with an integrated LED driver and ensures constant current drive, while the evaluation board provides all the necessary control and sensing input/outputs. The integrated LED driver on the power board is powered directly from the DC input voltage, is adjustable to up to 700mA and can be used with any power supply that can be applied up to a max of 30V. Furthermore, the LED driver is protected against excessive temperature rise that is caused by current overloads.

Working Principle

The evaluation board of MAX17530AUBEVKIT# utilizes the MOSFET configuration as its switching element, which is enabled by the internal PWM generator and the low-side MOSFET. When the internal PWM generator is enabled, it starts to switch on the high-side MOSFET and the low-side MOSFET alternately, thus forming a switched-mode power supply.
