The MAX17575EVKITB is an evaluation board for the MAX17575 Step-Down Mode Regulator. It is a key component for industrial and consumer low voltage direct current (DC) applications, and Evalution Boards - DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. This evaluation kits allow power designers to test and evaluate the MAX17575 quickly and easily. It is particularly suitable for applications that require voltages in the range of 5V to 20V, such as wireless communications, cameras, servers and PCs.The MAX17575EVKITB is designed to provide accurate regulation of output voltage. The kit includes an input MOSFET, output MOSFET, voltage feedback sensing path and current sensing path. The built-in feedback loop ensures that the output voltage is accurately regulated for given conditions, and can be continuously adjusted by changing the feedback voltage via a potentiometer.The input MOSFET, output MOSFET, voltage feedback loop and current sensing loop all interact to provide accurate voltage regulation even under varying load conditions. Input voltage can range from 3V to 24V with a wide range of output voltage levels. The board can be operated in either buck or boost mode depending on the user’s needs.The MAX17575EVKITB supports synchronous rectification and frequency switching to minimize power loss and maximize efficiency. Synchronous rectification reduces the substantial power losses due to the output voltage controlled by the internal oscillator. Frequency switching allows the controller to operate at the frequency most appropriate for the load.The evaluation board features adjustable soft-start circuitry which helps minimize inrush current and protects downstream components from start-up transients. The board also features an over current protection (OCP) circuit which senses an overload and shuts down automatically to protect MOSFETs from damage.In addition to the above features the MAX17575EVKITB also features an under voltage lockout (UVLO) circuit which shuts down the board when the input voltage falls below a predetermined value. This helps to protect the downstream components from deterioration due to input voltage spikes and drops.In summary, the MAX17575EVKITB evaluation kit is an effective tool for power designers to evaluate the MAX17575 step-down mode regulator and determine the best solution for their dc/dc and ac/dc applications. It features an input MOSFET, output MOSFET, voltage feedback, current sensing and soft-start circuitry to ensure accurate regulation and maximum efficiency.
