The MAX17604EVKIT# is designed for evaluation and demonstration of an efficient, flexible, and accurate DC-DC converter with Voltage-Mode control. This kit is capable of 24V input operation, output power of up to 60 Watts, and has both synchronous rectifier and synchronous boost converter outputs. The evaluation board is available in two packages and designed for use with the MAX17604 synchronous DC-DC converter with Voltage-Mode control.

The MAX17604EVKIT# provides several features that make it an ideal solution for evaluation and demonstration of DC-DC Converter applications. This board has a wide specified operating range of up to 35VInput and output power up to 60 watts. It also supports Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) switching, adjustable Soft-Start, and Thermal Shutdown (TSD). Additionally, the MAX17604EVKIT# has a programmable load-transient response, which helps eliminate overshoot and provide a fast response to load changes.

The MAX17604EVKIT# features a synchronous rectifier output and a synchronous boost converter output, both with adjustable output voltage and a flexible output voltage range of 1V up to VIN-3V. This board also supports firmware-adjustable voltage sequencing and allows for current limit settings up to a peak 2A current limit. For applications requiring a wide input voltage range (up to 24VInput), the MAX17604EVKIT# includes a high-efficiency DC-DC synchronous buck converter topology that works with up to 35Vinputs.

The MAX17604EVKIT# works by utilizing a Voltage-Mode control design. A PWM Voltage-Mode controller is an ideal controller for DC/DC applications that require transient response and efficient power conversion. The MAX17604 uses a voltage-mode control scheme to regulate the output voltage. This controller uses a feedback loop which compares the output voltage with a set point reference voltage to regulate current. If the output voltage drops below the set point, the PWM controller increases pulse width of the duty cycles and increases the output voltage. If the output voltage rises above the set point, the PWM controller decreases pulse width of the duty cycles and decreases the output voltage.

The MAX17604EVKIT# is designed for evaluating and demonstrating the MAX17604 DC-DC converter and VOLTAGE-MODE controller. This board provides adjustable outputs along with a wide range of features that make it a convenient solution for evaluating and demonstrating DC-DC Converters. It features a synchronous rectifier output and a synchronous boost converter output with adjustable output voltage, current limit settings up to peak 2A current limit, Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) switching, adjustable Soft-Start, and Thermal Shutdown (TSD).
