MAX17632AEVKIT is a cost-effective and efficient evaluation board for DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). It is designed to provide power conversion from an input voltage of 85 V to 400 V, to the output voltages of 1.2 V to 5.5 V, delivering up to 30 A with a high efficiency of up to 93%.

The MAX17632A Evaluation Kit features a surface mount power inductor that provides higher power density than traditional leaded inductors, thus reducing the size of the power system. In addition, the power inductor has been tested to meet the AEC-Q200 Grade 1 requirements for automotive application grade. The board also features the MAX17632AEK100 controller that offers a wide range of different features such as Soft-Start, OCP, OVP, UVLO, I2C/PMBus interface and many more, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The MAX17632A EVK can be used to evaluate a wide range of applications, including automotive,ADAS, industrial, computing, Server and Telecom, provided that the input voltage and output voltage requirements are in the supported range. For example, the board can be used to power applications such as sensors, microcontrollers, ASICs and FPGAs.

The MAX17632A EVK works in SMPS circuit topologies, powering up the load from the input voltage supply. The primary side circuit does the voltage conversion, while the secondary side controls the current flow from the output supply. The primary side branch includes the energy storage element, the rectifier, a pair of DMOS devices, a multiphase pulse width modulation (PWM) controller and the associated components.
