The MAX17690EVKITC evaluation kit provides a stable power supply solution for medium-power applications powered from an unregulated input voltage of 5.5 V to 48 V. This evaluation board includes all of the necessary components for setting up and testing the MAX17690, which is the primary component in the kit. The MAX17690 is a highly-integrated DC-DC synchronous buck converter that features fast transient response, low ripple, and accurate current-mode control for superior dynamic performance. The MAX17690EVKITC also includes an AC wall adapter and all of the necessary components to connect it to the evaluation board, making it easy for the user to evaluate the features and performance of the MAX17690.
The MAX17690EVKITC board is engineered to simplify the design-in process of the MAX17690 in a variety of applications. The working principle of the MAX17690EVKITC board is based on a synchronous buck converter. The MAX17690EVKITC evaluation board features an on-board balancing oscillator, bypass capacitors, and current-sense resistor. The on-board balancing oscillator is used to control the on-time of the switch, and the external bypass capacitors prevent the output voltage from sinking at high frequencies. The current-sense resistor is used to monitor the drain current of the switch and can be used to protect the circuit in case of overload or undercurrent conditions.
