It is designed primarily for use with one-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer battery packs which have either a fixed voltage output or are recharged through a signal pin. The product also has a built-in low voltage reset. This ensures that when the battery is low and needs to be recharged, the reset signal is triggered, protecting the device from overdischarging the battery.

The MAX1772EEI+T has a complete power solution, including one low-cost control logic with a low-voltage reset, overvoltage protection (DVPS), automatic cell recharging, and an adjustable stand-by current.
