The MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board is designed to give engineers the necessary tools to assess the usability and performance of the MAX1797, a high-performance, high-efficiency monolithic synchronous step-down DC-DC converter for devices requiring up to 10A of current. Ideally suited for applications such as12V automotive, computing, networking and telecom systems, the MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board is designed to provide engineers with a tool for testing and evaluating all of the features of the MAX1797 DC-DC converter.The MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board is an essential tool for engineers who are designing and testing the MAX1797 monolithic synchronous step-down DC-DC converter. It is designed to allow engineers to quickly and easily evaluate the functionality and performance of the MAX1797. The board includes an input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V, allowing engineers to accurately measure the MAX1797’s efficiency over a wide range of conditions. The board also provides various operating modes, such as low-noise, low-power, and high-performance, to help engineers optimize their designs for different applications.The MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board includes an integrated circuit (IC) which provides a default output voltage of 3.3V. The board is designed to be used in either a “normal mode” or a “low noise mode”. In “normal mode”, the output voltage can be adjusted from 0.8V to 6V using the on-board digital potentiometer, and will have a typical efficiency of up to 95%. In “low noise mode”, the output voltage is adjusted using an external resistor, and will have a typical efficiency of up to 93%.The MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board also includes a programmable clock generator which is used to synchronize the converter’s operation with an external oscillator. This provides the flexibility to set the operating frequency to any value between 100kHz and 1.2MHz. The clock generator can also be used to set the operating frequency to any value between 100kHz and 900kHz if the low-power mode of the converter is enabled.The MAX1797EVKIT evaluation board includes all of the components necessary to accurately test the functionality and performance of the MAX1797 monolithic synchronous step-down DC-DC converter. The board comes with power supply, heatsink, grounding shoes, and test points.
