Maxim\'s MAX1917EVKIT is a complete evaluation kit for ultrasimple, flyback-based DC/DC and AC/DC off-line switchmode power supplies (SMPS). The evaluation kit comes with preconfigured boards and materials which allow the user to experiment with multiple design variations in a very short amount of time. The primary component of the MAX1917EVKIT is the MAX1917 True System-On-Chip (SOC) IC that provides a break-through level of flexibility and efficiency when it comes to power conversion. This SOC device integrates the main switching and control architecture into a single device, giving it the power to control multiple power parameters from voltage mode to frequency to power-save, making it an ideal solution for space-constrained and challenging applications. This advanced integrated technology also offers robust protections included under-voltage lockout, over-voltage protection, over-current protection, and thermal protection all in a single device.

In addition, the MAX1917EVKIT comes with two different boards; one for DC/DC conversion and one for AC/DC conversion. The DC/DC board provides variable output voltages from 0V to 50V with a maximum output current of 3.3A and the AC/DC board provides variable output of 0V to 23V with a maximum output current of 1.6A. This allows the user to configure the boards to achieve their desired output power depending on the application.
