Evaluation boards provide designers with an easy way to evaluate the features and performance of various devices in different applications. The MAX194EVC16-DIP, an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) evaluation board, is designed to demonstrate the performance of MAX194ADC. It is capable of converting a single-ended signal into a 12-bit binary word with a resolution of 1µV. The board’s features include low power consumption, versatile input range, low input offset voltage, internal programmable gain amplifier, and many other features.
The MAX194EVC16-DIP board is an easy-to-use evaluation kit that offers a variety of features and options for evaluating performance of ADCs. The board operates with a single supply voltage of 4.5V to 6V and passes the input signal through an internal programmable gain amplifier. The gain is set to be either x10 or x100 with the option of x1 or x10 sum of gains. It also has an input offset voltage of 0.3µV and a settling time of 5µs.
The board contains an internal sample rate converter, temperature compensated reference (TCR), and an on-board voltage clamp. It has an adjustable input range from -4.2V to 0.8V and can convert the signal at a maximum sample rate of 186 ksps. This board has been designed specifically for the evaluation of MAX194ADC and other 12-bit ADCs. In addition, it has an STPM-01A telemetry board with a USB interface, which can be used for programming and monitor the performance of the ADC.
The board also features an internal S&M circuit (Schmitt trigger and level shifter) to reduce noise at the input. The S&M circuit is designed to maintain the input signal at a constant level and reduces the ripple on the input signal. This board also features a software-selectable voltage reference which can be adjusted to the desired value. It can be used to adjust the voltage reference of the ADC in order to get better conversion results.
The board is equipped with a status LED, which indicates the power supply and board status. This evaluation board can be powered with an external power source and can be powered up with the USB port.
