The MAX1951ESA+T is a high-performance synchronous step-down DC-DC switching regulator that provides robust system transients, radio frequency interference (RFI) performance, and low-noise operation.

The MAX1951ESA+T is part of the MAX1951 family of DC-DC switching regulators and provides a high-efficiency, digitally configurable switching regulator offering excellent power density capabilities in a small package. The regulator is designed for point-of-load applications requiring fast transient response and efficient operation over a wide input voltage range.

The MAX1951ESA+T is suitable for many different applications ranging from portable multimedia devices to embedded/industrial motor control systems. Its core features include an integrated high-side and low-side switch, a wide input voltage range, an extended frequency range for longer battery life in portable applications, very low output-voltage ripple and low-noise operation, and comprehensive digital control and telemetry functions.

The MAX1951ESA+T offers a complete power solution configured via I2C or SPI serial interface in a small 8-pin package. It is also configurable via an I/O-based configuration pins selection and offers precise independent control of both switch times and signal averaging.

At the heart of the MAX1951ESA+T lies its switching pulse-width modulation (PWM) architecture. This PWM architecture provides precise output voltage and current regulation with adjustable frequency and current limit. For applications where even smoother output voltage is required the MAX1951ESA+T incorporates a two-stage synchronous converter topology.
