It is a point-to-point communication protocol that enables nodes to communicate with each other directly, without the need for a centralized controller. With the SMB protocol, the MAX306EWI+T can be directly connected to any existing Sense-Amplifier-Channels (SAC) or SmartNAND SACs that support SMBus.The switches present in the MAX306EWI+T are of three types - NOR, NAND, and XOR. Out of these three switches, the NOR switch is the most commonly used. It functions by creating a connection between two points and by activating or deactivating the connection depending on the logic state of the control signal. The NAND and XOR switches, on the other hand, each operate by creating two connections between two points and activating or deactivating one depending on the logic state of the control signal.
