The MAX3420EETG+T is an advanced USB Peripheral Controller and transceiver, designed to address the low- to full-speed applications, providing a low-cost, highly flexible solution for USB-based data transfer and signal processing. Working Principle
The MAX3420EETG+T utilizes a simple low-power, small form-factor bridge that is compliant with USB 2.0 and 2.1 protocols. It contains 12 active pins and two buses, one for communications and the other for power that run at 2.5 Mbps and 10 Mbps, respectively. The MAX3420EETG+T utilizes two distinct on-chip channels to handle slave and host requests, providing direct communication with both types of devices.
The MAX3420EETG+T supports up to 64 bytes of data per transaction, allowing for high data throughput and low latency. It also provides enhanced support for power management and wake-on-connect operations. This functions by allowing the USB host to use low-power driving current, allowing the device to go into power-saving mode when the USB cable is disconnected and resume normal operations quickly upon detection of a cable.
The MAX3420EETG+T utilizes SPI communication, either in master or slave mode, to transmit data to and from the connected USB device. The communication occurs over four data lines, which are connected to the flow control lines of the peripheral. The data rate and direction of transmission can be changed on the fly.
