Maxim Integrated\'s MAX8640ZEXT18+T is a high-performance DC/DC switching regulator that is intended to power embedded processor cores, DDR memory and other low voltage core applications in mobile embedded systems. The MAX8640ZEXT18+T offers high efficiency and low output ripple, enabling maximum system performance. It is a 6A synchronous step-down controller with integrated 100V Schottky diodes, capable of providing up to 18W of power in a 0.9mm height package that is RoHS compliant.

The MAX8640ZEXT18+T utilizes a synchronous PWM current-mode architecture that provides fast transient response and excellent line and load regulation. It has three internal power channels and supports both pulse skipping and Burst Mode® operation for low output ripple and high efficiency over a wide load current range. External compensation and dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) eliminate the need for external components and reduce the solution size.
