Working Principle :

The working principle of the MAX8645XETI+T starts with the integrated boost controller. It senses the input voltage and compares it with the internal reference voltage, which defines the set LED current target. The boost controller then ramps up or down the switch duty cycle to match the LED current target. The integrated LED current sink, boost converter, and LED selector circuits protect the LED from overvoltage, short-circuit, or overtemperature conditions. The integrated boost controller and LED selector both monitor the LED current and then shut down the LED if current exceeds normal levels.

If input voltage is below the LED forward voltage, the boost converter is automatically enabled by the integrated boost controller. The boost converter then increases the input voltage step-by-step until it reaches the LED forward voltage. At this point, the boost converter is shut off and the LED is illuminated with the required brightness. The MAX8645XETI+T LED driver can also operate in dimming or blinking modes.
