The MCP1501T-10E/SN is a member of Microchip’s family of PMIC – Voltage Reference devices. PMIC - Voltage Reference is used to generate accurate voltages, typically within a range of -5V to 5V, when a given voltage level is required. It is characterized by low cost and low power requirements, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. The MCP1501T-10E/SN is an ultra-low-power, low-dropout voltage reference for applications requiring high accuracy and low power consumption. It integrates an extremely accurate 0.1V reference voltage and a short-circuit current-limit circuit to provide excellent accuracy, high power supply rejection, low dropout voltage, and reliable short circuit protection.The MCP1501T-10E/SN offers two output voltage variations, ±0.1V and ±1.9V, and is designed to provide best performance in a variety of environments, from low-voltage, small-signal precision applications to high-voltage and large current systems. It has very low output noise and ripple characteristics, an exceptionally low output resistance, excellent stability over time and temperature, and accurate output voltage regulation. The device is specified at 1.5mA (max) and 10µA (typical) supply current and is very small, measuring just 0.5mm x 0.5mm.The MCP1501T-10E/SN can be used in a wide range of applications, including voltage references for high-precision signal conditioning and timing circuits in signal acquisition systems, instrumentation and control, electromechanical and automotive applications; legacy analog voltage standards from 4.0V to 24V precision meters, low-voltage power-supply regulation, overprotection, and precision digital-to-analog converters. The device is optimal for the most demanding, low-power, and low-dropout applications.The working principle of the MCP1501T-10E/SN is based on the output voltage being generated in relation to the voltage provided to the input terminals. When an input voltage is applied, a small reference voltage is generated internally, dependent on the external voltage source, thus accurately controlling the output voltage. This reference voltage is then used in a voltage-feedback circuit to ensure that the output voltage is stable, with any variation in the input voltage being offset in the output voltage.
