It uses four main stages: pre-conditioning, constant-current, constant-voltage, and trickle charging. In order to ensure the maximum battery life, the optimal settings should be determined and set using the MCP73832-2DCI/MC’s charging parameters. The settings can be programmed on to the IC using the Charge Preconditioning, Charge Current Limit, Charge Voltage, Charge Termination Current, Maximum Charge Time, and Charge Safety Timer.
