MIC4125YME - Overview

The MIC4125YME is an advanced and highly integrated gate driver with a provision for up to two power MOSFET or IGBTs. The MIC4125YME is designed to provide a complete gate-drive solution for power switching applications, allowing the user to switch high-power devices like IGBTs from a low-power controller.

This product offers the best-in-class adjustable slew rate to maximise system efficiency, as well as allows for a wide range of operation, from nominally low drain voltage to high switch voltage applications. It includes a suite of features and both VFDN and SSOP packages.

Working Principle

The operation of the MIC4125YME involves a two-stage process. First, the positive input voltage is applied to the gate to turn the power MOSFET or IGBTs on. After the device is turned on, the current remains steady as long as the input voltage is held. Secondly, to turn off the device, the negative input voltage is applied to the gate and the device turns off.

The MIC4125YME has adjustable slew rate that allows the user to adjust the response time and peak current of the device. This adjustable slew rate provides enhanced system efficiency, allowing users to optimise performance for their individual application demands.
