MIC708RN
The MIC708RN is a reset supervisor device designed for reliable reset initialization and power-on reset (POR) circuit timing control. With the ability to generate an interrupt upon reset, the MIC708RN can enable power-on reset settings to prevent system-level problems caused by a lack of application and/or system initialization. The MIC708RN provides a 2.5V reset and a 0.8V undervoltage lockout (UVLO), as well as programmable reset timing.
The MIC708RN is a reset supervisor device designed for reliable reset initialization and power-on reset (POR) circuit timing control. With the ability to generate an interrupt upon reset, the MIC708RN can enable power-on reset settings to prevent system-level problems caused by a lack of application and/or system initialization. The MIC708RN provides a 2.5V reset and a 0.8V undervoltage lockout (UVLO), as well as programmable reset timing.
The MIC708RN includes a voltage monitoring input, a reset output, and a manual reset input. The voltage monitoring input (V MON ) monitors supply voltage and can be configured to trigger reset, undervoltage lockout, and POR circuit initialization, based on user settings through the programmable delay control input (DLY). The reset output, RESET , is driven low when the V MON trip point is reached, and remains asserted until either the manual reset input (MR ) is taken low or the voltage returns to the trip point. The MR input allows for manual resetting of the device for system debugging or flexible control.
The MIC708RN also provides adjustable POR reset timing via the resistor connected to the DLY pin. This provides a wide range of reset timing to address system-level failure caused by insufficient reset and/or POR circuit timing. When the V MON trip point is reached, the reset output is driven low and remains active until the voltage returns to the V MON trip point. The reset output is also pulled low when the manual reset input is taken low.
The MIC708RN is well suited for system monitoring and power sequencing, as it provides a low power reset signal to ensure system-level integrity. The reset circuit can also be triggered via external devices, such as power supplies, which can allow for dynamic and safe reset control. The MIC708RN is available in three package variants, including an 8-pin LLP, 8-pin SOIC, and 10-pin SOIC, to enable a wide variety of applications.
The MIC708RN provides a range of reset, control, and monitoring features that make it ideal for applications such as industrial and consumer applications, process control and automation systems, power and energy management, and home and office automation. The device is RoHS/REACH compliant, UL recognized, and operates over an extended temperature range of -40 to +85°C. The MIC708RN is also compatible with a variety of power supplies, including 5V, 24V, 48V and up to 60V.
