The MIC79050-4.2YM-TR is a step down switching regulator used in battery chargers. The device is capable of providing up to 4.2 A output current in buck mode and up to 1 A output current in boost mode. The buck converter has a wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 28 V and an adjustable output voltage range of 0.8 to 9.5 V.
