Over-current monitoring is another significant feature supported by the MIC706TMY. An on-chip current-sense amplifier is provided with an adjustable trip point from 0.2V to 2.0V. When a warning is detected, the Microprocessor’s reset signal is generated.

The MIC706TMY also features an adjustable over-voltage and under-voltage protection. The MIC706TMY monitors the input supply voltage and the reset pulse is generated when the voltage trip point is exceeded. This feature is particularly useful in applications such as power management and voltage regulation.

Besides the over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature and over-current monitoring units, the MIC706TMY also supports a watchdog timer and a clock monitor unit.
