The MIC708TM-TR is a low-power, single-chip supervisor that monitors power supply reliability and provides reset, watchdog and power-good indication. There are two reset outputs, one is a push-pull type, and the other is a open-drain type. The MIC708TM-TR can be used in multiple applications, such as industrial computers, gaming systems, and telecoms.
The MIC708TM-TR incorporates all of the essential elements for reset, as well as power-on, reset. It uses a power-on reset circuit to detect the power supply voltage is within an allowable range and generate a reset pulse width of 200 ms at the stable supply voltage. It also has an adjustable-threshold watchdog timer, which reset the system if the watchdog timer detect system failures.
The MIC708TM-TR’s power-good indication signal is internally generated by monitoring the main power supply voltage, switch-on/off the signal when the power supply is within the supply voltage range.The MIC708TM-TR is reset and assert signals for the user system, for reset signal. For example, when power failure or user system reset, it assert low signal to restart the user system. MIC708TM-TR provide both active-low and active-high reset signal outputs. The active-low type reset signal can be used directly in the reset signal of IC and microprocessor system. The active-high type reset signal can be connected to other active-high control signals.
MIC708TM-TR have innovative pulse monitoring circuit which can monitor the frequency of reset pulse and detect the system reset and assert the signal. The pulse monitoring sences the reset pulse in microsecond accuray, so it can prevent long reset period of the system. With the wide input voltage range, MIC708TM-TR can be used for both 5.0V or 3.3V power supply.
