By controlling the pulse width-modulation (PWM) signals, the device can automatically adjust the output voltage of the DC/DC converter based on the output voltage. It can also provide a constant current output by providing an analog voltage input that adjusts the output current.

The device’s adjustable Voltage Threshold (VOVP) protects the system, allowing adjustable Output Short Circuit Shut Down (OSC). When the OVP threshold is exceeded, the device will temporarily shut down the output for a pre-set time and then restore the output. The adjustable Output Overload Shutdown (OVL) protects the system from high output voltage or short circuit conditions.

In addition, the device’s output current limit and peak current limit protect the system from over-current or short-circuit situations. The adjustable Over-Temperature Shutdown (OTSD) protects the system from excessive temperature during operation. Finally, the adjustable Soft-Start capability allows a gradual ramp-up of the output voltage, in order to avoid any inrush current when the device is first powered up.
