TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) diodes are electrical components with the primary function of suppressing transient voltage spikes. In order to better understand how the SA43AHB0G works, it is important to look at its internal workings. Inside the diode, there are two junctions. The first is a diode junction, which is responsible for controlling both the rise and fall of the voltage across it. The second junction is the Zener diode, which is responsible for clamping the voltage to the breakdown voltage of 23V.
When the magnitude of the transient voltage is lower than the breakdown voltage, the Zener diode will keep the voltage clamped to a specific value.
