The working principle of SEK222M035ST is similar to all aluminum electrolytic capacitors. It consists of two layers of aluminum foil separated by a highly porous membrane saturated with electrolyte. For the electric charge to be stored in the capacitor’s dielectric, electric field is required to polarize the membrane, ie, to separate positive and negative charges on both sides. As current is applied to the capacitor, electric field will be generated to magnetize the membrane, producing an electrical charge. This charge will be stored in the electric field and will remain until removed by opposed current flow.
