It works by creating a molecular film on the cathode in a polarized capacitor. When voltage is applied, an electric current flowing through the electrolyte penetrates through the dielectric coating, producing positive ions on the anode and negative ions on the cathode. Positive and negative ions form an electrochemical reaction on the capacitor\'s plates, forming an electric field between the plates. The electric field creates attraction between the positive and negative ions, thus creating a storage of electrical energy within the polar capacitor.The working principle of SEK2R2M350ST is quite similar except that its anode and cathode plates are made of aluminum. Instead of using a tantalum pentoxide layer as the dielectric, SEK2R2M350ST uses a special kind of aluminum oxide with high dielectric constant.
