Working Principle
The SG7912AK-883B works based on the linear voltage regulator principle. It takes an input voltage and with the help of an internal error amplifier, it regulates the output voltage to match the internal reference voltage. The error amplifier compares the output voltage to the reference voltage and feeds the difference back to the control circuit, adjusting the voltage regulator\'s output as required, by varying the current through the pass transistor.
The SG7912AK-883B has an internal thermal shutdown and short-circuit protection which help ensure that the device will not be damaged in case of overloading, overvoltage or excessive power dissipation.
