The SMCG48A-HRA is a unidirectional high power transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode, which is designed to protect high voltage applications from power surges, electrical overstress (EOS), electrical fast transients (EFT), and other transients or spikes. This type of diode is made with a high holding voltage, which allows it to absorb and dissipate large amounts of energy.
