The SMDJ12CA is a transient-voltage-suppression diode (TVS) for protecting sensitive electronic components and circuits against electrostatic discharges (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT) and irregular voltage surges. This device is ideal for protecting against ESD events and electrical surges because it is suited for high energy pulse handling. The SMDJ12CA offers protection from overvoltages and overcurrents, while still allowing low voltage signals to pass through it. It is also designed to operate over a wide temperature range. This device is available in surface mount (SMD) packages.

The SMDJ12CA is a low-capacitance diode and is suitable for applications that require high-bandwidth signal transmission. This diode is designed to \'clamp\' an applied voltage to a safe value during an overvoltage event.
