This is also known as the “duty cycle”. The duty cycle is the ratio of the output voltage to the output current and is inversely proportional. The output stage also includes several components which helps to limit and control the output voltage. These components are a transformer, current sense resistors, inductor, and Schottky diodes. The transformer and inductor store energy and the current sense resistors help in controlling the output current. Finally, the Schottky diodes are used to limit the maximum voltage across the output and help in preventing the output from exceeding its upper limit.
