It provides a safe, low-noise, low power consumption and high efficiency DC/DC power solution. The ST1S03 PMR features a unique adaptive control loop ensuring smooth, accurate and stable current transition, allowing the regulator to smoothly deliver a consistent and reliable voltage for applications that require a robust and reliable output voltage.Application FieldST1S03 PMR is suitable for multiple applications such as Point-of-Load applications, Consumer Goods, Set-Top Box, Automotive, Medical and Industrial. It is designed to provide a steady and reliable power supply for wide range of application items that consume less power compared to other switching regulators. Its high accuracy and low power consumption makes it an ideal choice for applications like medical devices and set-top boxes where space and power efficiency are critical.Working PrincipleST1S03 PMR works on a Voltage Mode concept, using a two-stage architecture to produce the output voltage. It combines a switch mode power supply with linear voltage regulation to optimize the efficiency and noise performance of the regulator. In the first stage of the cycle a primary switch is turned ON and OFF, resulting in the output voltage being proportional to the duty cycle. In the second stage a voltage reference-based feedback loop reads the actual output voltage and compares it with the rated output voltage. If the output voltage is lower than the rated output voltage, the output voltage is reduced. Conversely if the output voltage is higher than the rated output voltage, it is increased. The combination of the switch mode and the linear regulation axes results in the controller delivering very little noise and with high efficiency.ST1S03 PMR also uses adaptive synchronous rectification to provide higher efficiency. Adaptive synchronous rectification means improved efficiency of the primary switch and enhancement in the output voltage ripple. Overall, the ST1S03 PMR can provide good noise reduction, better output voltage accuracy, and high efficiency.
