Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits provide engineers and electronic designers with fully featured development platforms. The STEVAL-CCM001V2 evaluation board is necessary for testing connected compact motor (CCM) applications and is great for users to evaluate STMicroelectronics\' solutions for dual brushed DC motor control. It is powered by an STM32F302K8T6 microcontroller and integrates two STSPIN230\'s slots for the motor driver ICs.
The application field of the STEVAL-CCM001V2 is wide as it can be used for automotive applications like power window drives, powered seat control, motor pumps for air conditioning and power steering supports as well as for consumer applications like vacuum cleaners, mixers, tile cutters, laser printers and much more. Due to the compact size, low power consumption and rich feature set of the STEVAL-CCM001V2 allows designers to develop advanced, cost-effective designs with fast time-to-market.
The advanced support and integrated tools of the STEVAL-CCM001V2 enable designers to quickly evaluate motor control applications and start development quicker. It is equipped with two integrated STSPIN230 dual brushed DC motor drivers to control motors with high efficiency and provides additional features such as overcurrent detection, change of direction and brake current control. It is also equipped with a single channel full-bridge driver capable to drive any type of inductive load, such as solenoid and relay.
The STEVAL-CCM001V2’s brushless DC motor (BLDC) control includes Sensorless speed control, field-oriented control (FOC), and sensor-based speed tracking and control algorithms, all developed with STM32CubeMX. It also includes step-by-step and continuous current control algorithms, optimized for BLDC motors.
The STEVAL-CCM001V2 is composed of two main components, the STEVAL-CCM001V2 board and the STSPIN230 driver boards. The board is equipped with an STM32 Microcontroller which contains an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core, flash memory, SRAM, multiple timers and many communication peripherals. It is capable of getting data from various sensors, such as current or speed, and controlling motors with high efficiency and advanced motion control algorithms.
The STSPIN230 drivers are used to drive the DC motors. They are designed to provide high performance through efficient power management techniques, all while minimizing the overall power consumption. The drivers have an on-board power stage that consists of an H-bridge designed with high-current FurcFETs. It also includes a digital interface to communicate with the MCU, as well as features such as speed control, ramp control and protection features.
The STEVAL-CCM001V2 board also features embedded software libraries and tools. Its dedicated GUI allows users to easily configure the board and start development in minutes. It also includes as standard a comprehensive driver and library package that supports various motion control algorithms, allowing developers to start working on their own application straight away.
The STEVAL-CCM001V2 evaluation board is the perfect platform for developing connected compact motor applications. It provides an efficient power management solution integrated with various peripherals and libraries, enabling users to quickly and easily evaluate their products. With the included GUI and software tools, users can quickly and easily configure the board and start development with minimum effort.
