Working PrincipleThe STEVAL-IPE010V1 board is based on the principle of the ST\'s single-phase energy-metering ICs. The main board contains a power-supply circuit, an LCD display, a keypad, LEDs for status indications, and a 16-bit AD converter and a 12-bit DAC. The power-supply circuit, AD and DAC, meter LCD with backlight and an external EEPROM are used to withdraw data from the device. The keypad is used for user input and a PWM driver provides an output for controlling the device.
The extension board houses the application specific components such as the current and voltage transformers, voltage, current and neutral measurement circuitry, LED indicators, fan control, etc. This board is the interface between the main board and the device to be tested.
The STEVAL-IPE010V1 board is controlled by an STM32F103ZET6 microcontroller from STMicroelectronics. This microcontroller is compatible with a vast array of ST\'s products and provides the user with flexibility when it comes to code development.
The STEVAL-IPE010V1 board is powered by a 220V AC power supply and consumes nominal power of 3W. The board has a power efficiency of 0.9 power factor DREN. It comes with a standard remote programming feature for wireless communication with a host PC.
