<p>STEVAL-IFP006V1 is an application evaluation and demonstration board from STMicroelectronics. It is a complete system for evaluating the features and capabilities of the new STM32F207 top-performance microcontroller. The STEVAL-IFP006V1 provides an easy and effective way for customers to assess the features of the STM32F207 microcontroller, and it can also serve as an embedded control & analytics platform.</p><p>The STEVAL-IFP006V1 demonstration board is based on the STM32F207VCT6 microcontroller. It is an ARM® Cortex-M3-based MCU with up to 512KB of on-chip Flash memory, 192KB of RAM, multiple communication interfaces and peripherals, four timers, two 16-bit ADCs, eight 12-bit D/A converters, four 32-bit pulse width modulation devices, four 10-bit pulse-width modulation devices, and four analog comparators.</p><p>STEVAL-IFP006V1 is designed for application areas such as consumer electronics, home and building automation, automotive, industrial automation, healthcare and medical, and multimedia. It is suitable for customer evaluation of STM32F207VCT6 features and performance, including embedded applications for smart energy saving systems, building automation, and Human Body Communication (HBC) communication.</p><p>The STEVAL-IFP006V1 features a range of on-board peripherals, including an LCD display, an SD card socket and Ethernet port. The board also comes with an onboard diagnostic and control system to instantaneously assess the operation and status of the device, as well as to monitor system performance. The diverse range of communication interfaces available includes five USB ports, two serial ports, four UARTS and two CAN ports. Additionally, an accelerometer provides information about orientation or acceleration.</p><p>The STEVAL-IFP006V1 also has an extensive range of ADC and DAC converters, timers and pulse width modulation devices. These enable the board to handle the powerful data processing requirements of advanced electric and electronic control systems.</p><p>The working principle of STEVAL-IFP006V1 is based on a 3-level architecture using the STM32F207VCT6 microcontroller. The first level consists of a Low-Level Driver Layer which contains standardized peripheral drivers for the STM32F207VCT6 microcontrollers. The second level consists of peripheral and application layers, which interface with the peripherals and implement application-specific features. The third layer is the application layer, which interacts with the user through printed text and a graphical user interface.</p><p>The STEVAL-IFP006V1 also incorporates a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and extensive debug facilities, so that engineers can quickly evaluate the performance of the system in real-world applications.
