Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are essential for development and testing, introduction of products and applications, and providing rapid prototyping opportunities. The STEVAL-IPE007V1 Evaluation Board is an excellent example of an Evaluation and Demonstration Board.
The STEVAL-IPE007V1 Evaluation Board is specifically designed to support a low-power High-Voltage PFC boost LED driver. It includes a DC/DC buck portion and a high-voltage-configurable boost portion. The board can operate as a universal AC mains input LED driver for usage in multiple countries and is capable of supplying up to 350mA of LED current.
The device utilizes the L6565D integrated circuit, a constant current and constant voltage driving circuit made for driving LED lighting applications, and the STNRG010 High Voltage Switched Mode Power Controller, a high-voltage current mode power factor correction controller with integrated high voltage power switches. The evaluation board allows evaluation of the L6565D to power LED indicators or a single LED of up to 3 W. It also allows evaluation of the STNRG010 for Power Factor Correction.
The STEVAL-IPE007V1 Evaluation Board is easy to configure and use. It is simply connected to the power supply, PC software, and led light source and is ready for use. The board features a six-color LED indicator (two colors for power, two for PFC, one for fault and one for thermal protection) and a MULTI-SENSE pin, as well as 3 dip switches and an isolated USB connector in order to configure the board settings. It also comes with a dedicated GUI for configuration and monitoring.
The STEVAL-IPE007V1 board is based on a 650V power supply from the mains. The current-mode control is activated by applying a high frequency signal to the power switches via the STNRG010 integrated circuit. A standard circuit for PFC is implemented, and the outputs of the Boost converter are connected to the primary side of a single output pulse width modulated (PWM) LED driver.
The key feature of the STEVAL-IPE007V1 Evaluation Board is it\'s efficiency. The board is capable of providing up to 96% efficiency, meaning that less energy is wasted in the LED driver application. As a result, less heat is generated in the LED driver circuit, making it more suitable for applications where high temperature operation must be avoided. This efficiency allows the customer to select the LED current up to a 350mA level while achieving an 95-96% efficiency.
