Both components are connected to two high-side current shunt amplifiers, which transmit corresponding current readings to the MCU. Additionally, the MCU is able to detect current over, under, and output short conditions, all while monitoring the two-phase motor.

The ST1S100 gate driver, like the MCU, is equipped with protection functions, including over-current protection, cycle-by-cycle current limiting protection, and over-temperature protection. It can operate up to 3 MHz, switching at high frequency PWM duty cycles for precise current control.

Altogether, STEVAL-ISA102V2 is an ideal platform for two-phase brushless surface-mounted permanent magnet motor control applications, compatible with both Hall sensor and Sensorless control.
